Nauphoeta cinerea have been one of the go-to feeder roaches for decades. They are both soft and extremely prolific. Most, if not all, of the current hobby stock originates from an introduced population in Florida. Nymphs normally appear brown, but reveal a colorful sheen in certain light. Like other members of the tribe Nauphoetini, mature Lobster Roaches can squeak (quite adorably) in self-defense.

Enclosure
N.cinerea aren't particularly large or crowding sensitive, but they are extremely prolific, so their enclosure should have some space.

N.cinerea aren't picky about their substrate as long as it holds moisture well.

Food
N.cinerea aren't picky about their food and can be fed an average roach diet.

Temperature
N.cinerea can be kept into the high 60s, but grows and breeds fastest at warmer temperatures

Range - 68 F to 85 F
