An earwig species being bred in captivity!? Yes, and a beautiful one at that! The Giant Arcane earwig is a large species that matures with a glossy black body, white-banded antennae, and caramel legs. The bulk of their diet should be made up of proteinaceous foods (dog food, pre-killed bugs, etc.), but they'll munch on things like fruit and vegetables as well. Observing adult females care for eggs inside their subterranean brooding chambers is a true joy!

Climbing Ability - Young nymphs can pseudoclimb

Enclosure
E.arcanum are rather large, so their enclosure should have some space.

E.arcanum aren't picky about their substrate as long as it holds moisture well and is deep enough to burrow in.

Food
E.arcanum should mainly be fed proteinaceous foods. Cannibalism can occur without sufficient protein in their diet.

E.arcanum can be kept into the low 70s, but grows and breeds fastest at warmer temperatures.
