Gyna caffrorum (the Chrome Roach) is a beautiful Blattodean that ranges from Central to Southern Africa. It gets its common name from the trademark, silvery coloration that it features at adulthood. They present a classic example of sexual dimorphism among roaches with females measuring slightly longer than males, but much bulkier. Like many members of its genus, this species is a proficient flier. Mature males in particular are capable of staying in flight for minutes at a time!
