Rhyscotus texensis
(Texas Fast Isopod)
Rhyscotus texensis is one of our few native terrestrial isopods. It usually comes in a chocolate brown color, but can throw individuals of lighter shaded as well. They are glossy and very lightly-built. True to its name, the Texas Fast Isopod moves quite well on its feet.
