Perhaps of the desert South West is the Blue Death Feigning Beetle. make Their adaptations to living in the harsh homelands make them nearly indestructible pets. While the hobby stocks of this species have traditionally been wild caught, there is an encouraging trend of captive breeding on the rise.

Enclosure
A.verrucosus aren't particularly large or crowding sensitive as adults, so their enclosure doesn't need to be spacious. Larvae are cannibalistic and should be kept individually for best results.

Substrate
A.verrucosus prefer a substrate made up completely, or almost completely, of sand.

A.verrucosus aren't picky about their food and can be an average darkling beetle diet.
Type - Proteinaceous pet foods, fruits, vegetables
Temperature
A.verrucosus should be provided a heat spike in the high 80s as mature larvae for successful pupation and eclosion. The rest of the life stages can be kept at much more flexible temperatures.
